The UAE’s e-invoicing programme uses the Peppol network: invoices travel between accredited service providers as UBL XML in the PINT AE format. The Ministry of Finance has announced a phased start — large businesses (revenue of AED 50 million or more) from 1 January 2027, the rest from 1 July 2027 — covering invoices between businesses and to government.
What AlFasil reads
- PINT AE invoices and credit notes (UBL
InvoiceandCreditNote), and other Peppol BIS invoices from suppliers abroad. - PDFs with the XML embedded. AlFasil uses the embedded XML instead of reading the pages.
- Everything that isn’t an e-invoice — receipts, foreign invoices, older paper — is read by the AI as before.
From the XML AlFasil takes the supplier and buyer with their TRNs, invoice number and dates, every line (including prices per pack and line discounts), document discounts and delivery charges, the VAT breakdown, prepayments and the amount due.
Checked like everything else
Totals, 5% VAT math, TRN format and duplicates are checked on XML invoices too. An e-invoice counts as one page, however long it is, and uses no AI.
