Many suppliers still send paper invoices, and many archives are scans. Traditional OCR turns those into a wall of text that someone still has to sort into fields. AlFasil reads the scan the way a person would — it knows which number is the VAT number and which is the total.
What helps accuracy
- Resolution: 200–300 DPI scans are plenty. Phone photos work well in good light.
- Flat and straight: a slight angle is fine; a folded corner over the total isn’t.
- One document per image for photos. For PDFs, one file can contain several invoices.
Stamps, signatures and handwriting
Company stamps often land on top of totals. When that happens AlFasil gives the field a low confidence score and highlights it, and the math checks usually catch a misread digit: if the lines add up to 1,600 and VAT is 80, a total read as 1,630 is flagged immediately.
Handwritten invoices can be read, but expect more fields to need a look.
Review side by side
In the dashboard, the original scan sits next to the extracted fields so you can confirm a highlighted value in a second, fix it in place, and approve.
